The disadvantage of using this theory to determine intelligence is that there is no distinction between what intelligence is and what talent is. Robert Sternberg, the triarchic theory of intelligence Sternberg's theory defines intelligence as mental. activity oriented toward the deliberate adaptation, selection, and shaping of life-relevant real-world environments (Santrock, 2013). According to Sternberg, intelligence is more than just a general ability, he proposed that successful intelligence consists of three factors. These three factors include analytical intelligence, creative intelligence, and practical intelligence (Santrock, 2014). The advantage of using this theory to determine intelligence is intelligence if measured more reliably. The downside to using this theory to determine intelligence is that there may be an underlying g-factor and studies still need to be done to determine if it can actually predict success (Santrock, 2013) . I believe the best theory for determining intelligence is the multiple intelligence theory and I believe I possess many different types of intelligence
