Essay / Adoption of cloud computing related to data storage
The main drivers of cloud data storage are reputable companies such as Amazon and Google that build complete IT infrastructures (Google, 2009). These infrastructures remove the complexity of internal data storage and ultimately reduce the costs of limited networked data centers (Hitachi, 2010). The traditional inefficient model of purchasing servers every time you need to accommodate high usage or growth is now being replaced by Internet-based systems that replicate your data centers but without the big overhead (Google, 2009). This flexibility facilitates the business world's constant evolution and continuous improvement initiatives aimed at eliminating waste, improving efficiency, and ultimately reducing costs. Another key factor is supporting effective business continuity, which will again eliminate material costs and pressure on risk assessment and management. Removing these hassles can free up valuable time for the chief information officer (CIO) and information technology (IT) department to effectively implement IT and information management (IM) and, in due course, reduce costs. Werner Vogles of Amazon of Web Services (Twitter) supports the idea of less hardware, because if you have to buy more hardware to start this move to the cloud, it's not a cloud. This further confirms the need to abandon old procedures of storing hardware and data internally and instil efficiency. Cloud data storage reaches small and medium-sized businesses, thanks to flexible costs that make it easier to manage data capacity. The more data stored, the lower the price. This encourages the strategic side of companies to take a close interest in this new phenomenon. As this aims to bring the company...... middle of paper...... fIBM. (2010).
