Essay / Starbucks Goals Analysis - 946
Starbucks Organization Goals Chapter 5Starbucks had several goals that they have and will implement over the next few years. There were so many that I had to choose just a few, but I have to say that they are very impressive. Starbucks has several long-term goals that are set at the beginning of each year, and they are diligent and confident that these goals will be achieved by 2015. They want to ensure that 100% of their coffee is ethically sourced, investing in farmers and their communities by increasing loans to farmers to $20 million by 2015. They would also like to improve farmers' access to carbon markets; helping them generate additional income while improving and protecting the environment. They have a sense of commitment to the environment and neighborhoods, which I find impeccable. Starbucks also wants to involve its employees and customers in community goals. Their goal is to mobilize their partners (employees) and customers to contribute 1 million hours of community service per year by 2015. Chapter 5 talks about planning and how choosing a goal and the development of a method are strategic to achieve the objectives. I think Starbucks has a clear understanding of these goals for the future. Starbuck's goals also include engaging 50,000 young people to innovate and take action in their communities. One of the objectives achieved was to develop complete recycling solutions for their paper and plastic cups. Additionally, they would like to serve 5 percent of the drinks made in Starbucks stores also in personal cups by 2015. This impressed me so much that they would like to reduce energy consumption by 25 percent in their owned stores. the company by 2015. Starbucks has and will continue to achieve big goals...... middle of paper ... and environment.References1.
