Essay / Gun Control in the United States - 1310
Gun control is a growing problem. This is happening all over the world without limits or borders. Currently, the United States of America is experiencing many problems when it comes to gun control. The definition of gun control is any law or policy based on the restriction or limitation of anything involving firearms. This includes, but is not limited to, firearm ownership, production, shipping, sale, and even use of firearms. There are currently many gun control laws in place. Every country has its own in the world, with the UK being the strictest of all when it comes to gun ownership. The United States of America, on the other hand, is one of the countries with the most lenient gun control laws. However, over the past ten years, gun control laws have changed dramatically in the United States. It has also become one of the most discussed and controversial topics in today's society. I believe that gun control will harm us more than it will help us. Over the past decade, gun control has evolved and changed dramatically. A number of new laws and policies have been passed or rejected. According to a poll conducted between December 14 and 16, 2012, 57% of Americans would like to see new laws and policies favorable to gun control. However, as of March 2012, the percentage of people in favor of gun control was only 39%. By analyzing these statistics, you can see how gun control is getting a lot of support and changing from what we thought. Going back another 10 years, only 5% of Americans supported any form of gun control. As Thomas Jefferson once said. "laws that prohibit the carrying of arms... disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes... ...... middle of paper ...... t of this brief. In short, I declare that just because the weapon has a sporting purpose and can be used for sporting purposes does not mean that it is a sporting weapon. The sporting objective is also legally vague and I imagine the courts will struggle over these few years. In conclusion, gun control is something that will always be debated. Whether it's good or bad is up to you. By choosing the right politicians, you can let others know what you believe, because ultimately they are the ones who make the laws. Hopefully we can find a solution to the mess America is in right now. Works Cited Kirgiz, Allen. http://rense.com/general85/obs.htm. Nap... Web.
