Essay / Capitalism: A Love Story - 1058
A cancer cell known today is a destructive living organism that duplicates itself by feeding on the energy of a corpse. Likewise, a country that promotes capitalism allows corporations to enrich themselves at the expense of consumer wealth. Ultimately, it becomes a question of morality as these companies harvest money from hardworking citizens for the purpose of greed and exploitation of the market economy. In the film Capitalism: A Love Story, the filmmakers use conventions and points of view to show that capitalism in America is an evil that is best replaced by democracy. Michael Moore warns everyone that promoting capitalism will destroy the economy because of the financial sacrifices made by citizens for free enterprise, while democracy will redeem it by allowing everyone to experience the luxury of a middle-class life . The filmmaker successfully uses interviews and archival footage to convey to the audience that allowing corporations to practice private enterprise is a sin. It also creates a sense of satisfaction with democracy through archival footage to make it look like a political system more suitable for everyone. For example, when the bishop and priests are questioned, they say that capitalism is not promoted by Christianity and believe that it is bad because it fails to provide for the needs of all and that it goes against the Christian way. After this, it shows an animated clip of Jesus demonstrating capitalism in which Jesus does not help an injured man unless he pays "out of his own pocket". Later, a business that operates in a democratic system proves to be successful and an environment where everyone is considered and no one is left behind (Michael Moore, et al). The negative opinion of the bishop and priests towards ...... middle of newspaper ...... who enrich themselves by confiscating the money of the lower classes and the possibility of recovering it through democracy .In conclusion, in the documentary Capitalism: A Love Story, the producers suggest that the pursuit of profit should be replaced by democracy through the use of first-person narration, recorded discussions, and footage. The message sent is to overthrow the current system due to its harmful effects on society and adjust it to make it a productive base where everyone makes an equal effort for the common good. Allowing a business to become privately owned is like removing security cameras from stores and banks. Bank robbers will be able to steal all the money, leaving banks in despair until society agrees to do something. Works Cited "Capitalism: A Love Story (full film)". YouTube. YouTube, March 24, 2013.
