Essay / A Shot In The Air - 932
From a young age, I always knew I would play football my whole life. My father showed me the ropes and got me interested right away. At the age of three I started playing and until today I haven't stopped. Football is a big part of my life and I don't know where I would be today if I had never played. I met some great people while playing soccer, including my coaches who encouraged me and told me to never give up and my teammates who became my friends and were always there for me. Having my father as a coach was an important factor in my football career. . Even though he was hard on me, he pushed me to do my best. Without him, I would not have become the footballer I am today. I found myself spending more time with my father than I would have if I had never played football. Playing football with him really brought us closer together and we have a great relationship because of it. Playing football has also brought my family closer together. My parents and sisters came to all my matches and supported me. No matter the outcome of the match, my family was always there for me. My family has been to my big games and the ones I'm not so proud of. Even though they've seen the worst of sports, I still love them watching me play. It's because of them that I never gave up. And I like to make them proud. This past year my travel team folded and I thought I would never have another team to play on. It was very upsetting knowing that I wouldn't be playing with the same girls I've played with my whole life. However, I joined an intramural team and started playing again. I played on a co-ed team for two more years before graduating high school. On intramural tea...... middle of paper......last five minutes. We dribbled the ball to the end of the court, faked defense and took a shot. " AIM !!!!!!!!!!! "All I remember was all the girls on my team screaming and running towards them. Me. Luckily, I was in the right place at the right time and sent the ball into the back of the net. I scored the winning goal and it was incredible. We won the championship! Over the years, football has changed me as a person. I like to think back to the good memories I had playing football. I plan to never stop playing football. I hope I play on the Shippensburg club team and never give up. It was one of the most memorable moments of my life playing football. Through soccer, I made friends, learned to play as a team, and helped bring my family closer together. Without football I would not be who I am today and I am very grateful for that..
