Problems and solutions to catastrophic global warmingGlobal warming is becoming a major problem for our environment. Global warming causes the atmosphere to warm, which causes many problems for the environment. Carbon dioxide in the atmosphere allows sunlight to pass through, but it prevents heat from escaping. This causes the earth to warm, which prevents it from becoming a frozen ball of ice, but excess carbon dioxide causes global warming, which will affect the environment. There are many solutions to slow or stop the effects of global warming, including planting trees, reducing carbon dioxide emissions and using alternative fuels. “It is extremely likely (95 to 100%) that human influence is the dominant cause of the warming observed since the mid-20th century. » (Wikipedia)The first solution to global warming and its effects is to help trees thrive. Humans can plant trees to provide habitat for animals. Reducing the number of trees cut down would also help. Planting trees would also be beneficial because trees remove carbon dioxide from the atmosphere to produce oxygen and other chemicals through photosynthesis. Planting trees would allow wildlife to thrive. The best places to plant trees are in open areas, as this would allow roots to sink into the ground, preventing erosion of the topsoil, which would also help the environment. Planting trees would provide a huge boost to the planet. If humans were to use money to do what trees did for humans in one year, it would cost them $35 trillion to make up for a year without trees. The second solution to global warming and its effects is to reduce carbon dioxide emissions. . This was already implemented when the Kyoto Protocol was put in place to reduce... middle of paper... diets. (Wikipedia) If humans planted trees, reduced carbon dioxide emissions, and/or used alternative fuels, they would slow or even prevent global warming from becoming a catastrophic change for the environment. Humans affect the environment in which all humans live. If you help the environment, you help yourself. Plant a tree today! Works Cited Williams, Mary E. Is global warming a threat?
