Abstract The exchange of goods and services for money has become essential in our world. On every street corner, someone runs a business. While the basic understanding of business is trade between two or more people when each party wants something from the other. In the most common case, this would be certain goods and services in exchange for money. Living in such a highly competitive world and knowing how to communicate well with suppliers, stakeholders and customers is what separates a good business from a bad business. In fact, employers and employees who understand the fundamentals of business communication will be able to start their business or career with an advantage that most businesses do not have today. Business communication is the process of transmitting information and thoughts between different parts of an organization as well as with associated people from outside the organization, such as customers, investors or suppliers ( Thomson, 2011). Good business communication would be that the ideas and messages sent are clear and easy to understand by everyone inside and outside an organization, which means that choosing the right words is extremely important to powerful business communication (Thomson, 2011). Having the ability to use communication to one's advantage is a powerful career filter that will make Pegasus Inc. products more marketable regardless of the economic climate (Guffey & Loewy, 2012, p. 2).
