    WHAT IS THE BIBLE?What is 1What is the Bible?This article will define the Bible and examine its origin, infallibility, purpose, and power. The reasons for studying the Bible will also be covered, as well as scriptures and historical data. The fact that the Bible has stood the test of time and has not been destroyed, even though several attempts have been made over the years, is a testament to the enduring power of God's Holy Word. Many men lost their lives producing and preserving this collection of books. This proves once again that the Bible is the most important and influential book of all time. God wrote the Bible. Who can better explain who God is than God himself? Although God did not take up the pen to produce the first paper copy, the Bible was "inspired" by God over a period of 1,500 years using 40 different men. The texts of the Bible were “inspired by God,” making each one a word of God and not the words of the men who wrote them. This process is known as plenary verbal inspiration. Plenary means complete and verbal means word for word, so every word in the Bible comes directly from God. 2 Timothy 3:16 says, “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in unrighteousness:” This scripture provides proof that the Bible is written by God. The Bible is an infallible collection of books. Because God is perfect, his words are perfect.
