    The narrator is a very lonely person who misses a woman named Lenore (Poe, “Raven”). The narrator stood in the dark, thinking about things he had never thought of (Poe, “Raven”). However, he only thought of the woman named Lenore (Poe, “Raven”). He lives alone and a bird greets him (Poe, “Raven”). The bird comes and sits on top of his bedroom door (Poe, “Raven”). The narrator opened the window and saw the raven from the past (Poe, “Raven”). The bird did not move a muscle but sat in its house above the door (Poe, “Raven”). All the bird did was stand there and nothing more (Poe, “Raven”). He never makes a sound except the word he says: “Never again” (Poe, “Raven”). The man sat in his house all day and the bird never left (Poe, “Raven”). The narrator seems sad throughout the poem (Poe, “Raven”). It always gives the reader the dark feeling as if it is dark and empty (Colwell). The narrator has beautiful poetry and many of his poems make people who read them feel sad or pity (Eddings). It was December and all the dead wood cast its shadow on the ground (Poe, “Raven”). The narrator kept wishing for tomorrow (Poe, “Raven”). He grieved for a woman who shone like a light and was an unmarried virgin named Lenore (Eddings). The narrator was always in a very lonely state of mind (Poe, “Raven”). He always wanted someone to talk to about the woman named Lenore (Poe, "Raven"). The narrator never left his house (Poe, “Raven”). He sat alone all day thinking about this woman named Lenore (Poe, “Raven”). The bird would sit on top of this door every day simply saying the word never again (Poe, “Raven”).
