Yousef AlMslmani, Saudi artist, was born and raised in Hail; the natural beauty of its landscapes amazed him. This inspired his desire to pursue photography and the surreal effects of Photoshop when he declared it in 2003. Teaching art in Hail's schools did not stop Yousef from participating in exhibitions and exhibiting his photographs. Yousef Al-Mslmani. (nd). Shaweesh is another Saudi artist based in Riyadh. He began creating art in 2009 with graffiti and has extended his expertise to digital street art and pop art. Shaweesh pursues American pop culture and classic Arabic artistic themes. He has 5 years of experience creating digital art, typography and graffiti. Nihal, M. (2013). The Saudi man in the work “Arab and Camel” represents the lower class status with its harsh living conditions that the government has deemed acceptable. The woman in the work “Attar” represents the struggles and difficulties of gaining acceptance from society. Both works depict people from struggling communities who are nonetheless happy with their situation. These two works show similar conceptual ideas behind them. I believe that the old, tattered clothes of the man in the work “Arab and the Camel” imply that he has a lower status; this means that he has no freedom over his life choices because he is a worker and owner of camels in Saudi Arabia. I think it's because someone with a higher status wouldn't have tattered clothes. I believe that the woman's wearing of the hijab in "Attar" suggests that she struggles with social acceptance. The 19-year-old, who wore a white headpiece, long-sleeved green top, black leggings and bright green running shoes, entered the 2012 Olympic stadium and was last of eight runners.
