Essay / Jeffrey Dahmer - 1124
Jeffrey Lionel Dahmer came into the world at 4:34 p.m. on May 21 at Milwaukee Evangelical Deaconess Hospital in 1960. At the time of his birth, his parents did not know that their son would become one . one of America's most infamous serial killers, not only for the number of victims he had killed, but also for his dismemberment and strange tendencies. Jeffrey's childhood began like any other, he had two parents who loved and adored their son dearly. They would give him everything his heart desired. Joyce Dahmer started an album about her son by recording the events that happened in his life, his first steps, his first accident, his first tooth, his first haircut and even his first scolding. While Jeffrey was still very young, his father worked long hours in his laboratory and his mother worked as a machine instructor. But wearing Jeffrey had been hard on Joyce Dahmer and every little thing seemed to annoy her. So Lionel, being the husband he was and wanting the best for his wife, decided to move into his mother's house in West Allis, but the cracks in the marriage began to show early. There were constant arguments between Joyce and Lionel Dahmer and Jeffrey took each on. of these heart-to-heart fights. Little did they know that constant fighting would be one of the reasons for Jeffrey's downfall and eventual descent into deviant crimes. Shortly before Jeffrey's fourth birthday, he was diagnosed with a double hernia which required surgery. This operation left Jeffrey open and exposed, with no one explaining to him what was happening. He was afraid of the operation, with complete strangers approaching him and exploring his body. This experience would have marked his subconscious forever. But like all little boys Jeffrey's age, he was like everyone else, climbing apple trees, riding his bike, playing in the coal dust, and coming home dirty. Although he was terribly shy growing up, he arrived on time and had a normal social life at school. By the time Jeffrey turned six, his mother gave birth to a second son whom she named David. Although this did not have a dramatic effect on Dahmer's life, he remained pretty much neutral about his brother's existence and they never became close. Around the time his second son was born, Lionel Dahmer and his family moved into their own home at 4480 West Bath Road, surrounded by open forest where Jeffrey could lose himself in a fantasy world..
