My childhood provided me with a strong foundation of integrity and honesty on which I built a diverse skill set and a strong commitment to success. I opted for Civil Engineering as my undergraduate specialization at GB Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar, where my knowledge was enhanced by studying Transportation Engineering courses and my liking for this field is so became much stronger. During my second year of study, I trained at the Department of Public Works, where I gained practical experience in pavement design and construction. I was very keen to do research work in this area. Therefore, after completing my undergraduate studies, I joined Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur, to pursue my Masters in Transportation Engineering. It was only after joining IIT Kharagpur, one of the most renowned and selective higher education institutions in India, that I developed the undying desire as well as the confidence to pursue a career in research in the field of pavement engineering. After graduating, I only learned the basics of pavement materials and different layers of pavement. It was only after taking graduate courses that I realized how limited my knowledge was and that I needed to work very hard and explore more of this vast field.
