Fair wages must change and be equal for all. CEO Jon Cooper believes that the minimum wage limit should be changed and should be changed to improve employees. Mr. Cooper is the president of a manufacturing company, this company has only 150 employees but all of them are paid more than a fair wage. Mr. Cooper campaigns for increasing the minimum wage, it is something he defends with great passion. The minimum wage is just $7.25 per hour and has been in effect at this manufacturer since July 24, 2009. Fair wages provide a foundation for our business community on which we can build a strong economic system. Mr. Cooper estimates that salaries account for 80 percent of his company's success. Mr. Cooper is the CEO of Spectronics Corporation, the world's leading manufacturer of ultraviolet equipment and fluorescent materials. There is no doubt that increasing the minimum wage will contribute to the success of our country. The increase will drive consumer spending, according to the IRS: “Consumer spending represents 70 percent of our nation's economic system. Low consumer demand is the biggest problem facing businesses today. Driving economic growth by boosting consumer spending is the result of raising the minimum wage. By allowing someone to purchase goods they cannot currently afford, it creates a boost due to the return of income via small businesses. It’s also good for our tax base. Raising the minimum wage will reduce employee turnover, leading to lower hiring and training costs. Higher wages can also be positive by increasing productivity. According to the Better Business Bureau, "When an employee has investments in the company he or she works for, he or she must pay in the 1960s.
