The difference threshold, also called “barely perceptible difference or jnd” is the minimum quantity required to differentiate perception between any two absolutely arbitrary stimuli. An example of this threshold is when a person can detect when someone adds a small amount of weight to a much larger weight. In more detail, this can happen when someone adds 20 grams to a weight of 200 grams. On the other hand, if someone added 20 grams to a weight of 2 kilograms, they would not notice the difference and the reason is that the difference threshold has
