Al-QaedaIntroductionAl-Qaeda is a terrorist organization created in Peshawar, Pakistan, between 1988 or 1989 by Osama bin Laden and his teacher Abullah Yusuf Azzam. Al-Qaeda is an international terrorist network considered the primary terrorist threat to the United States. Al-Qaeda seeks to get rid of all Westerners from Muslim territory and replace its own Islamic regime. This is a group of people working to come together to plan an act of terrorism against Muslims and non-Muslims, particularly in the United States. Al-Qaeda believes it is waging a holy war against the enemies of its religion. People from many countries have joined this group, including Afghanistan, Pakistan and Britain. This article will present a brief history of Al-Qaeda, how it emerged with its ideology, opinions, beliefs and objectives, and it will also present the activities that this group carried out before and after the very massive attack that 'they had. in the United States on September 11, 2001 and the international responses to this act of violence. Finally, this article will conclude with a comparison of this organization (Al-Qaeda) with Reverend Mike Bray, the Christian terrorist. Historical Background of Al-Qaeda Al-Qaeda is led by Osama bin Laden, born and raised in Saudi Arabia; his family was very wealthy and respected by the Saudi royal house and the public. When he completed his university studies in Saudi Arabia, he became a religious extremist. Osama began helping the Islamist movement against the communists in Yemen (Gunaratna, 2005). In December 1997, when the Soviet Union invaded Afghanistan, he went to Pakistan and then to Afghanistan to help the Afghan group protect themselves from the Soviet Union.
