Code Hero Traits are many distinctive qualities that characters possess that other individuals do not acquire. The characteristics describe a “hero,” but the hero does not speak about the characteristics. Frédéric Henry, for example, expresses many characteristics of the hero of the code. His philosophy of life is based on love, loyalty and respect, but he neither talks nor thinks about it. An additional characteristic of Frederick is that he allows fate to play a determining role in life's events. As I said previously, Frédéric Henry's philosophy of life is based on love, loyalty and respect. This philosophy is the result of maturation. Before he grew up, Frederick Henry was considered an insatiable soldier living off his family's money and living his life without worrying about what was happening around him. Like many soldiers during the war, Frederick was constantly drinking and having fun with many women. This previous lifestyle quickly disappears after Frédéric meets Catherine, the woman who changed his life. It took Frédéric a moment to detect this outcome, but soon he realizes that he is falling in love. He had fun with countless women before, but he never really felt affection for them. Catherine, that's another story. She has a side that attracts Frédéric to her. The way Frédéric adapts to Catherine's daily life by struggling to pay her a quick visit while trying to fit her into their busy schedules is a way of showing loyalty. When Frederick was resisting execution by combat police and trying to survive by swimming, he could only brood over Catherine to preserve his focus on what was really happening around him. Another action that proves Frederick is a code hero is when he was expecting his wife... middle of paper... cool goddess. English goddess. What else is an Englishwoman good at? » As the quote shows, Rolandi considers Catherine a prize, but he remains nonchalant about Catherine being Frederick's lady. However, he was delighted to send Catherine to Frédéric. This is one of the many reasons why Frédéric respects Rolandi. Frederic Henry behaves like a code hero because he possesses many of these characteristics and he doesn't talk about his actions. Above all, Frédéric respects, loves and is faithful to Catherine. An additional characteristic is that Frédéric lets fate rule his life. Finally, Frédéric appreciates his roommate for his imperturbability in the face of Catherine and her love.
