After passing the test, WG worked night shifts, from 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. At the end of his shift, he would change into the nursing school uniform and arrive on time to an 8 a.m. class. He also found time to fall in love and marry a registered nurse from the same hospital. After graduating, he stayed at the same hospital, first as a Registered Nurse (GN), then after passing the NCLEX as a Registered Nurse (RN). Intelligent, energetic, compassionate and passionate about nursing, it didn't take long for a doctor to recruit him to work in a gastrointestinal outpatient center. In less than a year, he was promoted to an administrative position, with the center offering to help finance his bachelor's degree. He was responsible for personnel planning, payroll and inventory. WG applied to Florida International University, a local university that established its nursing school in 1982. The BSN gave her leadership and communication skills that she lacked. Easing responsibility for handling more difficult workplace, staff and patient issues, he instituted an interdisciplinary team. Whose purpose included increasing patient safety and satisfaction, resolving any issues between staff, patients and doctors. He credits higher education with preparing him for the success he has experienced in government. Yet WG missed the close patient
