    Organizational structure in the criminal justice field consists of six basic elements, as in any career field. Furthermore, the six essential elements consist according to Giblin of “goals and objectives, division of labor, hierarchy of authority, command and control, responsibility and communication” (Giblin, 2014, pp.148). Additionally, the first element is the goal and objectives. The purpose of this first element is to serve as a guide for creating plans, tactics, missions, policies, instructions, and regulations (Giblin, 2014, pp.148). Therefore, goals and objectives must be clear and consistent to be achieved (Giblin, 2014, pp.148). The objective must be concise to be completely understood. Additionally, the goal is to retain experience, reduce dilemmas, and modify organizational change (Giblin, 2014, pp.149). On the other hand, objective purpose is used to create authority, responsibility, and to manage complex tasks (Giblin, 2014, pp.149). Above all, if the objective and purpose are not clearly stated, it could result in a higher level of discretion and the failure of the goals and objective (Giblin, 2014, --.149).
