    1. Explain the growth of political science as a discipline. Political science as a branch of social science has had a long journey to be recognized as a discipline. It originated from the thoughts of political thinkers since 450 BC from ancient Greek like Plato who was well known as the philosopher of social sciences and Aristotle as the father of social sciences. Both had the same vision of the State as philosophical perspective. This discipline evolved by other thinkers, such as Polybius and Cicero of Rome, Niccolo Machiavelli of Italy, Voltaire, Rousseau, Diderot of France, with their discovery of political analysis, social sciences, social and political criticism . Eventually, it was identified and evolved rapidly as an independent discipline in the United States after World War II in the 20th century. But the development of this discipline has materialized since the end of the 19th century. The rapid development of political science after World War II was brought about by the encouragement of several international institutions including UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization). Upset by the inconsistency of terminology in political science, UNESCO organized a survey in 1948 based on the position of political science in around thirty countries. This project is led by W.
