Police officers have greatly influenced me in what they do and how they go about their jobs day in and day out to protect us. Just as they walk toward a crime scene, either in motion or after the fact, the officer is in control of the crime scene. He must write a report, take photos, collect and preserve anything that could link the evidence to the crime. In a way, this also makes the officer a crime scene investigator. While the criminal justice system works hard every day, officers strive to protect the community as well as society to ensure safety and security throughout our daily lives.
