    I read the minimum required just to get by, but I didn't know I was harming my vocabulary. Being able to read in class and at home gave me the opportunity to read literature and come into class the next day ready to discuss it in class. I didn't know how much I wanted to feel a character's emotions or be able to imagine myself as if I were there in the book. My favorite story in the class was “Two Kinds.” The story meant a lot to me because as I read the story, I could somehow relate to the characters, and I found myself wanting to read more pieces of literature similar to “Two Kinds”. Whenever I had free time, I would read something, whether it was a school book or a home book.
