Sarah's attitude regarding her curfew is due to her parents' disciplinary measures. She basically follows the rules and is a very obedient person. She does what her parents tell her to do. Since she follows the rules, she hasn't broken any rules before in her life. His parents taught him to become a disciplined and rule-abiding person in life. This is clearly reflected in his mannerisms. Due to the curfew, she did not attend the real all-night parties. all these disciplinary measures helped her become a person who follows the rules in her studies as well. Cognitive dissonance is a term used to describe the feeling of discomfort resulting from holding two conflicting beliefs. There is a feeling of unease and anxiety when the person simultaneously has two incoherent and disagreeing notions. When such a type of discrepancy occurs, something must change in order to eliminate or reduce the disagreement (Fancher, 1996). People have an inner need to ensure that their beliefs and behaviors are consistent. Inconsistent or contradictory beliefs lead to disharmony, discord, and anxiety that people do not want to enter into. Although Sarah is a very rule-abiding person, but she is not able to appreciate what her peers of the same age enjoy, she is not allowed to do so. going to parties or spending late nights with friends. She hasn't dated anyone before. She doesn't have a big group of friends. When she goes out to party with her friends, she is afraid of breaking curfew, but on the other hand, she really enjoys partying and talking to new people. Because of her, cognitive dissonance appears in this situation. She is faced with two contradictory situations. On one hand she wants to obey the rules set by her parents and on the other...... middle of paper ... social interactions are harmful to other party participants because there are strong chances of people being injured. It is also possible that some children will be afraid and will not return to the party. This type of interaction creates confusion and anxiety in the minds of those who witness the scene. There is nervousness, apprehension and distress in society because of such actions. Sarah, who respected the rules, was affected by the behavior of her friends. Since she hadn't witnessed any other party scenes before, she was happy and having fun. She enjoyed Jack's company and made new friends.
