CHAPTER 1: INTRODUCTION1.1 Work Attitude: A work attitude is a set of evaluations of one's work which constitute one's feelings, beliefs and attachment a person at work. Overall work attitude can be conceptualized in two ways. Either as affective job satisfaction that constitutes a general or overall subjective feeling about a job, or as a composite of objective cognitive evaluations of specific facets of the job, such as pay, conditions, opportunities and other aspects of a particular job. Employees evaluate their opportunities for advancement by observing their job, their profession and their employer. Work attitude influences the behavior of employees in an organization, which in turn leads to job satisfaction. The human resource management of an organization must take care of employees in such a way that they do not succumb to stress or frustration and develop a positive attitude towards their work so that they are satisfied with the work they accomplished for the organization. It is very important to keep employees motivated so that they develop a positive attitude towards work. Motivated employees perform better, which leads to satisfaction and also decreases the attrition rate. To cultivate an attitude of excellence among their employees, managers must provide a certain degree of autonomy. Organizations and managers who want to excel must therefore strive to ensure employee job satisfaction. Frank interaction of managers with employees helps develop good relationships. Continuous coaching and genuine appreciation from managers also improves job satisfaction. Types of work attitude: There are four types of work attitude: 1. There is a consistent relationship between occupational status and job satisfaction. High levels of job satisfaction are observed in professions considered to be of good reputation in society. Workers generally compare their working conditions with the conditions of society, under the variable of social conditions. If social conditions are worse than the individual's working conditions, this will result in individual satisfaction, because workers see themselves in a relatively good position. No significant relationship between job satisfaction and age, work experience, education level, education level. salary, gender and occupational group were found.
