    What does disability mean? We see individuals living their lives with specific challenges every day, but we don't consider it a part of life, until it becomes part of reality. People with disabilities struggle because they have an invisible, visible, sensory, mobility, or intellectual disability, which causes them to be singled out as "different" in the public eye. I will not talk about disabilities, but about disabled people; it is the person we need to focus on, not the disability itself. The Golden Rule is a key concept in many religions. Christians, like many who follow other religions, were taught at a young age by their parents, teachers, and authority figures. The Golden Rule is arguably the most essential basis of the modern concept of human rights, which encapsulates the fact that we should treat others as we wish to be treated. A key part of the Golden Rule is that a person treats everyone with respect, not just members of their group. The Golden Rule is endorsed by most world religions such as Buddhism, Hinduism, Islam, and Judaism, but I will discuss Christian views specifically. To apply the Golden Rule, we must recognize our existence. In today's society, few people take the time to reach out to people with disabilities, instead they put barriers between themselves and these people. Christians believe that everyone is created in the image of God. Looking in the mirror, we should be able to see the elements that make up God. Knowing this, a person with a disability has also been created in the image of God.
