  • Essay / Engineering as a Career: A Career as an Electrician...

Many benefits are fringe benefits, where you get more opportunities as well as better pay. Another benefit of being an electrical engineer is basically getting paid to come up with new ideas, and even if you don't always have solutions to a specific problem, you still get paid quite well. Some of the downsides of this job may include working in an office all day. As an electrical engineer, you may not have the opportunity to work outside of an office building, so this is not the job of someone who enjoys the outdoors. Another flaw is that it can become boring and difficult to find solutions to a problem, because it is not an easy task. Engineers can spend many hours, even days, trying to find a solution to a problem or a better, more efficient way to make a part. Being an engineer requires being willing to put in many hours to try to make things more efficient and easier, as well as wanting to work in a bigger city. Different jobs in the engineering field might require working for a large company or corporation. Electrical engineering could be the ideal field to pursue as a career path because it pays well, requires math, science, critical thinking skills, and the ability to be detail-oriented.
