    When I was initially seeing a therapist, I have to admit that it was a very trying endeavor, but as I looked at this therapy more closely, I noticed that many of the The methods she used on me were from a cognitive point of view. While any type of therapy or theory works for some and not others, it's about how much you dedicate to improving yourself, regardless of the theory the therapist has chosen to work with. While the theory may work for some, it may not work for others. But with this type of theory and the techniques applied, I found it to be quite helpful during my period of depression. I can say that when I applied these techniques, for example recording thoughts I was told to help me with my negative thoughts, it gave me the understanding I needed to come out of that kind of state of mind. This theory promotes a positive mindset. Which I think is a great way to problem solve. I also like this theory because it focuses strictly on thoughts and why we have them. To me, this theory makes the most sense when it comes to helping someone who is depressed or anxious and has been shown to be effective in treating these areas, unlike some other theories like that of psychoanalysts which lean too much on the past. I find that this theory focuses on the future, which can be helpful when someone dwells on the past like I did. As I said, not all theories work for someone, each has its pitfalls and
