I started taking piano lessons when I was in first grade, but when I moved to Canada I couldn't take piano lessons. I didn't have the opportunity to take piano lessons again until the eleventh grade. In high school, I joined a choir for four years as well as a jazz band and concert and earned a music award in the twelfth grade. I gave private lessons to groups of sixth, seventh and eighth grades. When I was in a jazz band, I learned to play the alto saxophone and tenor saxophone. When I was in a concert band, I played the flute. I also had the chance to play for my church's worship team for five years. During my first year of college, I joined the university choir. When I was enrolled at Summit Bible College, I was part of the acapella group called “Tapestry” which was usually performed at special events at churches, at our school, and at Sunday services for a year. I completed the tenth grade piano playing and theory exam and am currently preparing for my ARCT: performance, history and harmony exams.
