Background Housing affordability in Australia has become the focus of planners in recent years. In particular, South East Queensland (SEQ) has come under significant pressure as demand for affordable properties and housing increases and population growth continues in the region. The issue has come to the forefront of local government discussions in the region and there is a real need to address the issue of housing affordability. The topic of affordability is complex and is driven by a number of factors, including taxes created by Council processes, which constitute the scope of the HAF-T5 project. The need to reduce these taxes is a key factor for the continuous improvement of the Council's processes. streamlining the approval of housing-related development applications. There is a direct correlation between the cost of housing and the time it takes to obtain Council approval for a development. The intention of this project is to isolate unnecessary costs and, if possible, remove them from the evaluation process. Purpose of the document The purpose of this document is to provide a summary of the Council's case file investigation activity and to inform the HAF-T5 project. for the relevant council involved in the HAF-T5 project.
