Florida is home to one of the greatest varieties of ecosystems, including mangroves, swamps, and the Everglades, to name a few (Habitats and Wildlife of Florida). Climate change caused by global warming has already begun to alter the growing season, forcing plant and animal species to adapt, and if they cannot adapt, they risk extinction. This change in growing seasons has already caused a disruption in the life cycles of plant and animal species, limiting food resources and desynchronizing reproduction and survival (NASA). This is bad enough in itself, but let's put it in a perspective that benefits us. We depend on these plants and animals for our food and our ability to live. Following the cycle of life, we expect that the meat we eat will be able to provide us with the nutrients we need to live, in the quantities necessary for our health. As plant species disappear, animals receive fewer nutrients, and so we receive fewer nutrients as well. For this reason, our health will deteriorate and this vicious cycle will continue. This lack of nutrients can cause malnutrition, which can cause or worsen illness or, in one extremity, lead to death (World Food Program). The Child Welfare League of America estimates that more than 30 million Americans regularly go hungry or are at high risk (Livestrong). Like our amount of resources
