Essay / Middle East - 2564
Imagine living in a nation where the government was not on your side. Everything the government did was in its interest without any consideration for the people. Imagine your government was in conflict with another government and that government had the power to say whether you had food, food, and water to drink. Imagine that in this so-called nation, children who go to school prefer to throw stones at members of the other nation instead of going to school. Imagine that one day, that kid who threw rocks might one day strap a bomb to himself and try to blow people up because he thinks it's the right thing to do. This is currently happening in the Middle East. These so-called nations are Israel and the Palestinian state which is not yet a nation. In the Middle East, this is daily life and all they know is that the government doesn't care about them, so they continue to fight for a cause that will never be resolved because their government does not want to reach an agreement. The United States stands for peace and freedom for all, but it is not doing enough to help the Middle East. The United States must act to resolve the conflict in the Middle East to preserve the lives of the people and save the Holy Land. Before you can solve the Middle East problem, you need to understand how they became what they are today. It all started at the end of World War I and the fall of the Ottoman Empire. The southern part of their empire was left to the British, which they called “Palestine”. The Jews said they wanted to migrate back to the region and rid it of swamps and malaria, "they did not, however, rid the land of the few Arabs there (United)". For this reason, many Arabs also migrated to this region for a better quality of life. “ “In 1923, Winston Churchill claimed to have created, “in one afternoon”, Transjordan which separated Palestine into two parts (Kifner). » The new area east of the Jordan River was an Arab nation and was called Transjordan, meaning across the Jordan River, today known as Jordan. The land west of the Jordan River remains Palestine, “soon to be called Israel and the imaginary Jewish land made reality (Bard 22).” The Arabs living in the new Transjordan wanted to take over the rest of Palestine. Train... middle of paper... Iran are real countries, the rest are just lines on a map supported by "tribes with flags", artificial countries created by European countries after the First World War (Kifner). this can however be changed. In conclusion, the Middle East has gone through a lot to shape and reshape itself. Arabs and Jews went through almost constant war, sometimes worse than others, battles break out for some reason. Due to this constant warfare, a ceasefire must be maintained and some form of Marshall Plan must be introduced to create jobs and reshape nations into a more livable atmosphere. It might seem that Israel gets less benefit from this idea by losing land and not having Jerusalem as its capital, but this is what needs to be done to guarantee peace or at least have lasting peace. With their nation rebuilt, Israel may have a new export that creates jobs and strengthens its economy, which is far more important than trying to seize land it will never be allowed to acquire. The United States has the power to make all of this happen. This is why it is very important that the United States gets and stays involved in Middle East affairs..
