    Religion in Brave New World is defined by the controllers of the world. Technology is revered: “Mond's utopia is a secular culture where religion has been replaced by the cult of Our Ford and Our Freud” (Varricchio n.pag.). Through the religion of futuristic society, it is made known to what extent technology now plays an important role in society and in everyone's lives. Fordism is an example of how the world would change for the worse with a world controlled by technology. Congdon explains: “Fordism involves iconography [of symbols]; "All the crossovers had the top cut off and became Ts", as Mustapha Mond explains, a reference to Ford's famous Model T automobile... Such mythology, combined with ectogenesis [the development of embryos in artificial conditions], would lead to the marriage of the assembly line and reproductive technology (“Community, Identity, Stability”). Technology even controls people's religious beliefs. Fordism shapes the mentalities of society. Fordism is compared to world religions today. Huxley comments: “[Fordism has] all the advantages of Christianity and alcohol; none of their faults” (26). Christianity, Fordism and alcohol offer the benefits of inner peace and joy. Alcohol has many flaws, including health risks and destructive decisions. Fordism is seen as a more desirable source of happiness. Congdon
