    They obeyed all the orders given to them. According to Zimbardo and his team, “the prisoners' sense of reality had changed and they no longer perceived their imprisonment as an experience” (Zimbardo 32). Prisoners coped with their humiliation either by rebelling or by emotionally breaking down. The effects of the Stanford Prison Experiment had more negative effects on its prisoners than on anyone else. Evil seemed to be taking over the guards. Although they were only granted a powerful role for a short time, they all took extreme measures to establish their power. Prisoners were humiliated, dehumanized and lost all sense of control and power over themselves.
