Mustafa Furkan KaptanStatement of IntentTechnical University of MunichDepartment of Computer ScienceI am a senior bachelor's student at the Department of Computer Engineering at Galatasaray University and I am writing this statement of purpose for my application to the Technical University of Munich in Computer Science and Engineering Master's program. In this essay, I will briefly outline my background, my interests and why I am a sufficient candidate for the TUM CSE master's program. My enjoyable interaction with computers dates back a decade to when I first learned to program. In high school, I interned every summer in the IT department where my father worked. Since then, people around me know me as the technician. With this, I can say that I knew I would study computer engineering after high school. Being ranked among the top 1% of students wishing to enroll in a university, I chose to study at Galatasaray University. So far, throughout my undergraduate years, I have always strived to do more. I improved my programming skills by taking elective courses, participating in different competitions, and contributing to open source projects. Among the courses I took, the most interesting were Artificial Intelligence, Numerical Analysis, Parallel Programming, Computer Architecture and Networks. I also took online courses from various websites and attended many seminars to hone my skills. Since Galatasaray University attaches as much importance to mathematics courses as to programming courses, I acquired a solid training in advanced mathematics. In the 4th semester of my studies, I and my team received the special jury prize at the IBM Software Academy (2012). ). Our project was to create a system that could i...... middle of paper ......ation we achieved, I had learned some fascinating things about topics like weather forecasting. My curiosity led me to do a lot of research, to read a lot of articles on computer science. Ultimately, I realized that with my education, math background, and programming skills, I could and should tackle large-scale problems. That’s why I decided to get a master’s degree in computer science and engineering. With the mathematical background and programming skills that I have combined with the engineering approach that I have acquired, I strongly believe that I am enough to be a good candidate for TUM. CST. I have no doubt that TUM CSE will take me to the international level with its education system and strong relationships with multinational companies. It would therefore be a privilege to be able to be admitted to pursue higher studies at TUM CSE..
