    For centuries, the bow and arrows have had an influence on many people. The bow and arrows are not just a weapon but a tool. The arc has morphed over the years into something much simpler. Rather than a complex bow, the bow of many years ago was longer, more flexible, with no sights or add-ons. For the Middle Ages, it was a rivalry success but a global change that forever influenced all civilization; for better or for worse. In fact, the longbow dominated history with its importance in medieval times. The longbow was a recreational activity first practiced by Wales to attack the English. But the English recognized its usefulness and used the bow to their advantage. With great effect on the English, the bow was used so much that it is now called the English longbow (July 16, 2012). Archers equipped with longbows were primarily responsible for battlefields but sometimes naval warfare and hunting. Thanks to this devastating effect, the English were able to win the Battle of Poitiers against the elite French army, killing 2,000 men....
