Essay / 'Don't blame the eater? - 1246
The town of Manchester, Kentucky would have no YMCA, parks or recreation. They have an economic vote and everything else is “mostly fast food” (Haygood 1). They remain the only dining option for people. Even someone like Charlie Rawlins, who had this experience, decided to “educate himself about nutrition” since there was no “literature on healthy eating habits” (Haygood 1). In Manchester, this fact makes us aware of the effect of fast food on children since it is the only thing available and they do not have time to cook. They perpetuate the fast food habits and advertisements seen everywhere, so that others will realize that this is not just happening in a small town in Kentucky, but rather that the fast food company is endangering the hope of future life.
