In The Metamorphosis of Franz Kafka, Gregor Samsa is depicted as an ordinary person. Someone who hates their job but recognizes that their job is necessary because it supports their family. Before Gregor turned into a dung beetle, it seemed like his family took care of him. Due to the main characters' transformation into a bug, everyone in his family begins to dislike him. The Metamorphosis focuses on change, how a character's change over the course of the story affects the main character Gregor Samsa.
