Essay / Two successful people: George W. Jenkins and Brandi...
Two successful peopleThe word success means different things to people. Some people see success as wealth or perhaps as an entrepreneur who has turned their vision into a successful reality. Create and build a successful business from scratch. According to Maxwell (2002), “success is a journey. …Success is knowing your purpose in life, growing to reach your maximum potential, and sowing seeds that benefit others. Respectively, this article will examine the journey of the late George W. Jenkins, founder of Publix Super Markets and my friend Brandi Callum, entrepreneur and also real estate broker. My definition of success is not based on being a wealthy person. rather, it is based on the positive attitudes, actions, reliability and strong character demonstrated in the face of life's many challenges. For me, being able to focus, maneuver through adversity, and succeed are key elements to success. The late George W. Jenkins and Brandi Callum are great examples, and they have different success stories. George Jenkins' journey began by chance. He was a manager at a Piggly Wiggly grocery store in Winter Haven, Florida. It was around the time of the Great Depression of 1930. High unemployment, along with the collapse of banking and the stock market, had a negative effect on Piggy Wiggly's financial results or sales. George's store was eventually sold to an Atlanta businessman. After weeks of waiting for the new owner to visit, he decided to visit the new owner in Atlanta. When he arrived, he was told the new owner was too busy to meet him. However, Mr. George overheard the new owner's conversation and read... middle of paper... seeing these unskilled workers who had no confidence or self-esteem, transform into confident skilled workers. Mrs Callum, truly extraordinary. These two people achieved their goals against all odds. They have not compromised their beliefs or convictions. Instead, they mobilized everyone around them through their actions. It is a known precept in the business world that once followers can see and believe in the vision, they usually focus on achieving the goal. This always leads to a positive result.ReferencesCooperstein, Paige. (2014). Consumer Reports reveals the 10 best supermarkets in America.
