Even though he sees that this transgression will occur, he knows that it is ultimately the duty of Eve and Adam to refuse temptation and remain faithful. Satan, dedicated to his path of wickedness, enters the Garden of Eden disguised as a serpent in hopes of leading humanity away from God. Satan eventually convinces Eve and Adam to eat the fruit and they know better the difference between good and evil, what they had and what they lost with their disobedience. The fall and their new knowledge allow Adam and Eve to trust God even more than before, because they can now better understand God's goodness.
