Words and images were silent weapons used by all governments involved during World War II. Wars are usually fought between soldiers, but different ideologies also meet on the battlefield. The support of the people is crucial in these times as it is common knowledge that there is strength in numbers. Propaganda targets people's emotions and feelings and changes their perception of a particular idea, person, or situation. Propaganda goes hand in hand with the art of persuading and convincing; these tools can control and manipulate the collective minds of a large portion of its audience. During World War II, for example, items of war were removed from the sites of military combat and brought to the homes of millions of families. Advertising has the power to sell ideas, give or take away hope and lift people's morale; the ideas presented to the public by propaganda are immortal, they remain engraved in the memory of the nation. Images, often displayed on posters and pamphlets during wartime, were a vital factor in gaining people's support and trust. Images attract people's attention more effectively than words. It's an effective way to attract attention; I said that pictures speak louder than words and this case is no exception. The media, during World War II, was the catalyst that increased the magnitude of the problem we were facing. This event marked our history since its objective was to generate hatred between ethnic groups. It is in our nature, human nature, to take our own culture as a point of reference to judge others.
