Each element has its own mission for the tombs. Additionally, the Egyptians loved to paint images on the walls where their tombs were located. They usually painted images of everyday life, such as dancing, crops, or things they loved. These scenes represented the hoped-for afterlife and deeper meanings of magical protection and rebirth. The purpose of a tomb was to protect the dead and help them be reborn. The most famous tombs in the world are the pyramids of Egypt. There are three types of tombs: royal tombs, tombs of nobles and tombs of workers. These types of tombs changed from the Old Kingdom to the New Kingdom.
