The first known robot was created around 400-350 BC by the mathematician Archytas and was a steam-powered pigeon. Archytas built his bird out of wood and used steam to power the robot's movement. This bird was then hung from a swinging bar. At one point, the bird managed to fly up to 200 meters before running out of breath. It's not just the first known robot. Robots are machines capable of performing a complex series of actions automatically or controlled source by source. Robots can be defined in different ways, but a robot is not only a human-like machine, it can also be a drone for example. A drone is simply a flying robot that can also be controlled anonymously through software flight plans built into the program. New advancements in robotics will help people in the future. Robots will make life easier and help people improve their lives. They will improve our military and our troops, which will give us a huge advantage. It will also make our healthcare services much safer and more productive. New advances in robotics will have a positive effect on people. Robots will improve our military by creating a positive effect on society. Kristina Grifantini says, “The University of Pennsylvania will showcase the latest version of a four-legged robot that can both scamper on the ground and quickly climb a tree or pole. Rise V3 was designed and built at Boston Dynamics, the company behind the four-legged military robot Big Dog” (Parag.2). This shows that the four-legged military robot is an incredible advancement for military personnel. This “Big Dog” can carry heavy loads for the troops.
