Essay / Study: Research Design - 754
CHAPTER IIIThis chapter includes research design, subject of the study, object of the study, technique of data collection, instrument of collection data, data collection method, data analysis/3.1 Research design In conducting this research, the author uses experimental research. Experimental research is a method used to determine the effect of a particular treatment on another under controlled conditions. (Sugiyono, 2013: 107). Experimental study has some varieties of research designs. In this study, the author uses a quasi-experimental design. Quasi-experimental design is one of the types of experimental studies that has a control group, but it cannot be used to control external variables that affect the implementation of the experiment (Sugiyono, 2013: 114). The experimental class will receive the treatment which will be taught using series of images when writing news texts and the control class which will be taught in a conventional way. In quasi-experiment, there are two designs used in quasi-experimental research. This is a time series design and a non-equivalent control group design. In this study, the author uses a non-equivalent design since the experimental group and the control group are not chosen at random. Here is the diagram (Sugiyono, 2013: 116):E O1 test of the control group before treatmentO4= post tes of the control group after treatment , 2013: 61). In this research, middle of paper ...... groups will undergo the same test, that is, writing the news text for 30 minutes.4. TreatmentThe two groups will receive different treatment. The experimental group will be taught using picture series as treatment to improve students' writing ability, while the control group will be taught using conventional methods or using a textbook.5. Post-testIt will be administered after the treatment to measure the improvement in students' writing ability and to know whether the treatment is a success or failure.6. Post-test collection and scoring7. Analyze the data3.7 Analyze the dataAfter collecting the post-test data, the study will be analyzed and processed the data using statistical computing through SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social science) program.3.8 Scoring techniqueTo grade the test, the writer provides a scoring guide
