Wrestlemania 17 is a Wrestlemania for the ages and one that I think could never be outdone. Brilliantly booked, complete unpredictability, so many wonderful surprises, plus plenty of classics, make this the ultimate Wrestlemania. The crowd is huge, very loud and incredibly atmospheric. Matches. WWF Intercontinental Championship William Regal vs. Chris Jericho|C|. Big pop for Jericho. The perfect way to start an opening match, with one of the most popular superstars and a unique competitor in Regal. Very solid wrestling from both sides, and I liked the psychology of Jericho's injured arm. Jericho retains the man tag of 3/56. Tazz&APA against the right of censorship. The crowd is there for everything! Not bad for a 3 minute match. Standard tag wrestling, but nowhere near as bad as you might think. Tazz&APA win.2/5Hardcore Championship. Raven|C| Against Kane against Big Show. Not bad for a Hardcore match. Trash, but pretty fun too, with some really memorable spots. Kane wins the title.2 1/2 /5WWF European ChampionshipTest|C| Against Eddie Guerrero. When was the last time you saw a big pop for Test?!. Very solid title match here. The test worked well with Eddie and there were a number of exciting moments. Eddie wins the title, with outside interference. 3/5 Kurt Angle vs. Chris Beniot. Not at the level of some of these matches, but still close to the classic indeed. Pure wrestling at its finest, and Beniot's mind games were excellent. With these two, you know what you're getting, so sit back and enjoy! Angle wins by cheating.4 1/2 /5WWW Women's ChampionshipChyna Vs Ivory|C|. BIG pop for Chyna. I don't like Chyna and I hated Right To Censor, but I respected both ladies for their abilities, but even as short as this... middle of paper ...... in 2001, I felt betrayed. Austin eased his soul and was tempted to turn his back on him, that really struck me, but I didn't know any better at the time. I still don't agree with it, but it's certainly a classic moment. Austin wins the title, to a deafening pop, I don't think the fans realized he turned heel. My favorite Wrestlemania match of all time and one of my favorite moments. 5/5 Final result. Wrestlemania X-Seven is simply the best and considering WWE's biggest event period. What they accomplished here has not been matched. That's what wrestling is, it was the golden age of WWE, and unfortunately Vince hasn't been able to recreate the success since then. If you haven't seen it, where the hell have you been? I respect opinions of all kinds, but if you don't like this one, you really have no taste for wrestling. See it, and see it now!.
