  • Essay / The Pros and Cons of Technology - 869

Integrating technology into society to improve and support our rapidly developing world is the solution to creating the best utilities and tools available to help us to improve our lives [1]. Technology offers us endless possibilities in our small world and Bill Gates sums it up in his own words: “Never before in history has technology and innovation offered so much promise to so many people in such a short time . »[6] I categorically reject the idea that technology is a double-edged sword because its advantages visibly reduce its disadvantages to an insignificant amount. Technology is already instituted in multiple spheres of knowledge such as medical sciences, communications, business, economics and environment [8]. Medications are essential in our fast-paced world and people often need additional help to fully recover. In our modern world, the production of medicines and non-traditional medicines is largely technology-driven. The pharmaceutical companies that produce these drugs, like Johnson & Johnson, are very technology-driven in the sense that they cannot afford to make mistakes during the manufacturing process [7]. This process involves extremely precise measurements of substances and strict methods to be followed in the mixing process. Mixing, granulating and coating [7] must be executed perfectly and technology allows this to happen perfectly. Technology allows machines to be precise and fast when performing procedures. This precision and pace simply cannot be achieved successfully by manual labor [4]. This development of medicine is not only evident in the medical field, but also in global communication. The field of communication has challenged...... middle of paper ...... personal needs. Technology is such an important and demanding factor of our world and its benefits completely exceed its limitations [5]. It continually proves to be useful to everyone as it always finds effective and simpler ways to carry out the procedures of our daily lives. Every economy in the world needs technology and its practical nature innovates the way we live. This novelty is very evident in the field of medical sciences, communications and education. The words of Arthur C. Clarke describe the preciousness of technology: “Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic. [10] » This is an excellent example of how technology poses insignificant difficulties and surpasses in an assortment of spheres of life through human innovation and technological processes, thereby revolutionizing our world in its best performing form..
