    The film 300 is full of sexism. 300 actually displays the Spartan woman accurately. At the beginning of the film, the messenger insults Queen Gorgo and says that she should not participate in the discussion because she was a woman. In the film, the Spartan wife is a strong-willed woman, and the queen is the strongest of all as she advises her husband on military and political matters. The woman was free, unlike most cultures where the woman was seen as a sex slave and just someone to have children and cook for. The Spartan woman helped further distinguish the Spartans from all other cultures. But with freedom, there is a price to pay: you have to abandon your children at a certain age and that is why there are Spartan men.
