  • Essay / positive and negative impacts of migration on Berlin

INTRODUCTIONMany people migrate to different places around the world. There are many reasons for migration, including educational and economic, social, religious and political problems. Berlin is in Western Europe. Around 470,000 people of non-German nationality from around 190 countries live in Berlin's 12 districts ("Migration to Berlin"). They represent approximately 13% of the total population. Most of the immigrants are Turkish, around 200,000 people (“Migration to Berlin”). Many people move there for a better quality of life and better employment. This essay seeks to assess the positive and negative impacts of migration in Berlin. This research will begin by assessing the economic factors of migration and then examine the educational factors. In doing so, it will be emphasized that the impacts of migration are balanced.BODYECONOMYFirst, Berlin is one of the dynamic economic regions in Europe. In 2009, the nominal gross domestic product of the city-state of Berlin grew at a rate of 1.7% (−3.5% in Germany) and amounted to €90.1 billion. Berlin's economy is dominated by the service sector, with around 80% of all companies operating in the service sector (“Business”). People move to this city to improve their lives. Some of them want to open a new factory or company regarding the important market of automatic industry and medical technology production. More than 1,385 companies established or invested in Berlin between 2001 and 2012. In 2012, 162 companies established new locations in Berlin or expanded their locations in Berlin (“Berlin: Investing in a city with a future bright "). In 2010, official statistics show more than 14,400 new start-ups created by foreigners. This means that people without German passports constitute ...... middle of paper ......ies for international students. On the one hand, it is generally a very inexpensive country to study abroad, as foreign students pay the same tuition fees as local students, and many universities charge no tuition fees at all. CONCLUSION To summarize all points of view, migration has positive effects. and a negative impact on Berlin. If many people move to this city to open a factory, Berlin's economy will grow, but the environment will suffer because of dangerous gases. Many students come to Berlin to study at the best universities in the world and help grow the city's economy. Depending on the points we consider, each migration motive presented a balance between attraction and repulsion factors. To conclude, I would like to say that Berlin is a city of immigrants and that today it is a real capital of development in Europe, it is the best place in the world for immigrants.
