Essay / Family Medicine Residency Personal Statement
The Xavier School of Medicine offered me international training in the field of medicine, which allowed me to complete numerous medical internships that allowed you to gain practical experience working with patients. From 2009 to 2015, I actively participated in clinical training which allowed me to realize my talents as a family doctor thanks to the support of my peers. Recently, I was named “Chief Student” at Jackson Park Hospital because of my commitment to helping my fellow students and cooperating with my superiors on the medical staff. These aspects of my personality and professionalism define a unique interest in the field of family medicine and the personal relationships I have formed over the past 5-6 years. These are important aspects of the core values of the student-teacher relationship that I can realize by being admitted to the family medicine residency program. Even more so, I can apply the skills and medical training I receive to provide humanitarian assistance to the people of Afghanistan and around the world. These are the main reasons why I think I would be a good candidate for the Family Medicine Residency program, a crucial part of my training as an international physician.
