The External and Internal Factors of Microsoft CorporationIn this article, Team B will discuss the internal and external factors of Microsoft Corporation. We will explain how these factors affect the four functions of management, planning, organizing, leading and controlling. We will also explain how globalization, technology, innovation, diversity and ethics will be delegated to manage the different factors. Microsoft Corporation was established in 1975 in Albuquerque, New Mexico, producing software for the development, manufacturing, licensing and support of a range of software products and services for different types of computing devices. Microsoft has grown from six employees to the largest personal computer software company in the world. In 1978, Microsoft earned $500,000 in the first quarter and by the end of the year, its revenue was $1,000,000. In the early 1980s, Microsoft, together with IBM, released MS-DOS as the first 16-bit operating system. However, after the late 1980s, Microsoft began building its reputation by creating the Microsoft Windows operating system and the Microsoft Office product, which includes Internet Explorer, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word programs. Then, in the late 1990s, Microsoft partnered with Sega to integrate their Windows software package into the game developer's Dreamcast hardware. They also developed their own gaming system called Xbox, which was eventually replaced by the Xbox360. Microsoft has come a long way and is no longer just a global leader in computer programming, but also a major player in the technology world. However, Microsoft management was able to fully utilize the skills, expertise, and wisdom of its employees to continue its success. Microsoft continues to succeed through its creativity and innovation by producing new products such as Windows and Xbox. Management has demonstrated diversity by employing 91,000 people worldwide in more than two hundred countries. This cultural success propelled Microsoft to the forefront of the technological world. This can be attributed to efficiency and effectiveness.`
