We all know that college sports is a very corrupt system. From drugs to sex, scandals, academic fraud and pay-to-play schemes, etc. Right now, college sports is a runaway train because of all the corruption it suffers from. One thing that could help solve a lot of this corruption would be paying college athletes a base salary. College athletes deserve at least a base salary for all the effort and time they put into these sports. And let's face it, many athletes from these high-end, division one schools go to college for sports, not education. College athletes deserve compensation for all their time and effort in their respective sports. Varsity sports are sports funded by colleges to give students the chance to play the sports of their choice while continuing their college education. Students can participate in these sports while receiving a well-rounded college education. Athletes participate in these sports and each sport generates approximately $80,000 in revenue for an average D1 school.
